Strategy & Objectives
Bubbleroom's Sustainability Strategy, Sustainability Policy, and Sustainability Goals
Bubbleroom's sustainability strategy, policy, and goals are based on the United Nations' 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDGs), which are part of the 2030 Agenda. This agenda is the most ambitious ever adopted by the world's countries, and the goals are designed to create a better and more sustainable future by 2030.
By aligning Bubbleroom's sustainability work with the global goals, we gain a clear target vision and can structure and prioritize our efforts. Out of the 17 global goals, Bubbleroom has identified 7 goals that are particularly central to our business. In our sustainability work, the focus is primarily on these goals.
Sustainability Strategy
By integrating the sustainability strategy across all parts of the business and involving all employees in the work, a stable foundation is created for a long-term sustainability journey.
Our sustainability strategy, which currently focuses on five clear areas, highlights the complex challenges that we, and the textile industry at large, face, and guides us in our decisions and actions going forward.
PEOPLE
We will strengthen human rights and gender equality, and inspire women to follow their own path.
In every business decision, we respect our employees, customers, and suppliers to create balance, promote good health, and well-being.
PRODUCT
Our assortment will exclusively contain products made from organic, recycled, or otherwise more sustainable materials with full transparency.
We will reduce overproduction and offer products that are designed to be worn for a long time.
PLANET
We will protect the planet by ensuring a business model where we take responsibility for the entire product lifecycle.
Partnerships and Initiatives
Sustainability is something we all must work on, and the best results are achieved together. Below, we present some of our collaborative forums and partners.
amfori
amfori is a world-leading initiative for companies working with social responsibility, focusing on working conditions in the supply chain. Bubbleroom has been a member since 2019, and through amfori, we collaborate with other member companies to achieve better safety and working conditions in our suppliers' factories. More detailed information about our work with amfori can be found under "Suppliers & Factories."
amfori BEPI
To strengthen our sustainability work in the supply chain, we have joined amfori BEPI (Business Environmental Performance Initiative). This global initiative helps companies improve environmental performance in their supply chains through increased transparency and concrete improvements. Through our membership, we are taking an important step toward more responsible production.
The Accord
In 2023, Bubbleroom signed The International Accord and Pakistan Accord, an agreement between a large number of international brands and trade unions created to ensure safe working environments where no employee should worry about fires, building collapses, or other preventable accidents with reasonable health and safety measures. In connection with the start of production in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Safety Agreement was also signed in 2024. In 2024, we phased out the Pakistan Accord since we no longer produce products in Pakistan.
STICA
In 2021, Bubbleroom joined The Scandinavian Textile Initiative for Climate Action (STICA), an initiative where several Nordic textile and fashion companies have come together to reduce the industry's climate impact in line with the Paris Agreement. Within STICA, we work to set research-based goals and guidelines to reduce our overall carbon footprints and limit global warming. We learn from each other and regularly report on progress, solutions, and innovations needed to create significant change.
Better Cotton
Since 2022, Bubbleroom has been a member of Better Cotton, a nonprofit organization working globally and on a large scale to improve cotton farming methods and the conditions for cotton farmers. Better Cotton educates farmers in more environmentally friendly farming practices, including reduced water use, transitioning to organic fertilizers, and reducing the use of harmful pesticides. Better Cotton's work also contributes to improving the social and economic situation for farmers.
Kemikaliegruppen RISE
In the Chemicals Group, over 120 member companies, research actors, and authorities collaborate on chemical-related issues. The Chemicals Group spreads the latest knowledge on chemistry and environmental issues to member companies in the textile and electronics industries.
Fur Free Retailer
Bubbleroom is part of the Fur Free Retailer program, which is part of the Fur Free Alliance (FFA), an international association of leading animal and environmental protection organizations worldwide. By being part of the program, we clearly communicate to our customers that we do not sell real fur.
TEKO
TEKO represents Swedish textile and fashion companies both nationally and internationally, and their main focus is to support member companies in areas such as employer issues, environmental & sustainability, trade and export, research & development, and logistics and education. Since 2019, Bubbleroom has been a member of TEKO, and through them, we receive ongoing information about sustainability news and new legislation. Bubbleroom is also part of TEKO's working group for Sustainability.
TEX! By Marketplace
TEX! By Marketplace Borås is a platform for the textile industry in Western Sweden. Bubbleroom participates, among other things, in Tex! By Marketplace’s Sustainability Group, which regularly invites for meaningful conversations and lectures.
TÜV Rheinland
TÜV Rheinland is one of the world's leading testing service providers with local offices and laboratories in most of our production countries. TÜV Rheinland is one of our oldest partners and performs the majority of our quality and chemical tests that are part of our quality assurance work.
